| Neighbors barking dog | | What do you do when your neighbor that is a very good friend gets a new dog that barks incessantly? I don't want to hurt the friendship by calling the police, yet I don't know how many more days I can bear to be up all night because of the dogs constant barking. | | Help For A Barking Dog | | You guys all had such great comments and gave such great ideas when I posted a discussion about how to help keep my dog calm during a storm I thought you would be able to help with something even more important that will be happening soon.Right now I live in the country and whenever someone comes to the house or goes by the house the dog barks to alert me that something or someone is there that isn't supposed to be there. He's a great watchdog. But in a few weeks I will be moving to an apartment in town with him that is the apartment above the landlord.The problem is, what can I do to quiet my dog when he starts to bark that will be very effective? The apartment is right by a school so there will be a lot of people walking by all the time, and until the dog gets used to that, because it will all be brand new to him, I need for him to listen when I tell him to be quiet or the landlords will get upset. I don't want anything to cause me to get into trouble or make them say I have to get rid of the dog. | | What do you find worse than a barking dog? | | I mean really what do you find worse than a barking dog.. For me it's panting when they act like they are all hot and non stop panting, you try to get them to go outside but they run in another direction.. Sometimes right before I go to sleep I really need to tell my dog to shut up because thats all she does is pant all night.. She has water so I know she's not thirsty.. | | Can you call the police on a barking dog? | | Two different tenants in my apt. building leave their dogs home all day. They leave their windows open and the dogs home alone all day. They bark furiously at mailmen, neighbors, workmen, pool service people, delivery personnel anybody that come near the front gate or walks into the complex. This is constant, shrill barking. I work from home and am heartrily sick of the noise. it serves no purpose and I tune out the noise after a while, so it can't alarm them to danger. Can i call the police for this?
