| | Dog Whisperer trains children too | | I have recently been turned on to the show the Dog Whisperer. For those of you who dont know, cesar milan (the Dog Whisperer) is an animal behavioralist who takes dogs with behavioral problems and rehabilitates not only the dog but the owners too so that dog and human can effective communicate. I have become a total addict and I watch the show every time its on.BUT, did you know that cesar milan's techniques can be used on children too? I have successfully retrained my children to calm their energy when they hear that "Shh" sound that Cesar uses with the dogs. Its not a long drawn out Shhhhhhh like you are hushing them its a quick and stern Shh more like a "tsk" kind of sound. If you use the Shh while changing your body posture to a more dominant assertive posture the children will immediately settle down and get the deer in the headlight look. Thank you Dog Whisperer for not only helping with my dog but my children too.Have you ever taken something you learned on TV and used it for purposes other than what it was intended for?

| | She is going to eat me out of house and home. Literally! | | I swear there is nothing she wont eat! First she started eating the trees and bushes in the back yard. She eats trash and anything that winds up close enough to pull through the fence. After she ate the trees and bushes she started to eat the back porch. She ate the food in her bowl and then tried to eat the bowl! Her eating is out of control and it needs to stop! I just cant take anymore!Her latest fiasco has left me seeking help. Two nights ago my sons had working cable in their bedroom but yesterday morning when they woke up the cable wasn't working. It worked everywhere else in the house so I knew it wasn't a service problem. The TV worked when I hooked it up in another room so I knew it wasn't the TV. I went outside this morning and found the problem. She had pulled the cable free from the side of the house and had chewed it in half. Luckily the boys' room is the only room on that particular section of the cable. But STILL!!I have tried many different things. I bought her chewy toys. I have scolded her. I have coated stuff with jabenero paste (which she hates). I just don't know what else to do. So here is my question:How do I get this dog to STOP eating me out of... | |
| | Do you go for a walk early in the morning? | | I used ot get up and do youga and exercises ofr an hour in the morning but i found that my weight was not going down. i am not particularly fat but still a small paunch was bugging me. I started going for a walk efvery morning at 5 AM. I take a 5 Km walk at a brisk pace. it is really refreshing and I feel i am beginning to lose weight.i come back and do 100 sit ups. Now i think my small paunch should disappear. Do you go for a walk in the morning? Is it helpful? | |
| | Dog Whisperer | | I have become addicted to watching Cesar Milan the dog whispere on TV! He sees mostly the bad behaviour in owners and corrects them to have these beautiful well behaved dogs again....and makes it all seem so simple. Does anyone else watch this show? | |
| | How to make a dog obedient? | | I tried many ways but in vain. I don't have the mind to beat him. Whenever he wants food he is very obedient but after finishing it he never cares us. Can u suggest any other method other than beating. | |
| | My dog barks at absolutely anything, whats wrong with her? How do I stop her? | | As you can see from the picture, Phoebe (pheebs) is a rough collie, and she is sooo cute and adorable, but she annoys everyone with her barking. We even have to face a 5,000 pound fine for her noise pollution (the neighbours complained to the council).
She will bark at aeroplanes flying overhead. She will bark when the guy next door is going to work in his van. She will bark at any lawnmower, and if our garden is being mowed, she chucks a complete mental fit. She barks at the guy next door (otherside of the house to other one with van, and its this guy who complained about her) who has a shed that he does his carpentry (sawing etc) in all the time. She will bark if we put salt on our dinners at the dinner table (i think she knows she might get the scraps and she prefers hers without salt maybe??? hehe). She will bark when we take the lid of the kettle to make some tea. She will bark badly if we open the windows anywhere in the house... She barks if we don't play with her (throwing the ball).. She barks at the other dog (Anastasia the westie) if she doesn't play with her...
Generally she's a lovely and peaceful dog... but these mad barking moments are becoming rather... | |
| | The Dog Whisperer | | Does anyone else watch this program? I absolutely love to watch him work with an animal that no one else seems to be able to control. I also love his humerous explanations about the animals. I don't think there is another human being that can mimic a happy dog than Ceasar Milan. I wish he could come to Georgia though and teach had to potty train my dachsund. I have been doing this for years with all different breeds of dogs but this little Bella has got me stumped!!! I haven't bought his book yet but that is on my list of things to do. He certainly trains humans well! | |
