myLot Discussions| Looking For a Small Indoor Dog! | | I would love an English Sheep Dog but I'm thinking it might take over my house. So I'm looking for a small dog that I can keep inside but is bigger than my purse. LOL. It would be great if it didn't shed hair. Any ideas? | |
| | my dog is an indoor dog... | | but he's started to irritate me being in the house, i let him outside to pee and poop, but he tears everything up, he chews on everything, i came to realization when i received my new laptop charger in the mail b/c he chewed up my old one, a replacement one would cost me 99.00 so i got a universal generic one for 25.00 which isn't that much, but he's chewed up so much more that has cost me plenty. so tonights his first night sleeping outside, my husband said oh u want to turn ur house dog into a yard dog, u can't do that! so wut does every 1 think! is it wrong? wut should i do?! | |
| | | Do you love your dog this much? | | Today after I got home from work I noticed my dad had put my one of my dogs, Mimi, out on the leash. Well, this is normal because she predominantly is an indoor dog. She is a mixed collie breed. But she likes to wander off with my other dogs and they have a tendency to leave her....but anyhow that is another issue. Well, today I got inspired to write and article while i was waiting for dinner to get done. ANd after awhile I noticed the time and looked out the window....and I remembered Mimi, she hates to be in the dark. ANd it was dusk....so I ran outside to get her when I looked at the tree and saw no Mimi. I knew exaclty what happened the moment I yelled her name and I heard a barking in the distance....she had broke the chain and got trapped in the woods. My biggest fear. Because there are coyotes out here and in the Fall it is the worst you can hear them howling in the bare fields....well anyhow I trucked it across the field, without a flashlight nor a leahs DUH!!! on my part. I finally get close to where she was but obviously could not see her.....trucked it back to the house and got a flashlight and leash and my dad and I went back for her....well after some more walking... | |
| | We just got a new puppy! Any advice? | | Last night we brought home Daisy, our new little yellow labrador retriever puppy. We haven't had a puppy in a very long time, and never had a puppy that will be a mostly indoor dog. (Our previous dogs were acquired as adults, already well trained.) We also have two indoor cats, who will adjust I am sure, though they're a bit put out right now. So, what's your best advice regarding new puppies, especially large breed puppies like our little Daisy? | |
| | Stinky Shih-T... zu! | | We just got a new shih-tzu from a couple who didn't have the time or energy for this poor pup. He is about a year old, and has been an OUTSIDE dog since he was about 5 months. I know, I know... shih-tzu's are indoor dogs, but that was them. When we got him, his hair was all matted together, and we almost had to shave him bare! Now, he's an indoor dog but he smells soooo bad and has fleas. We have to bathe him every day. Does anyone have any tips on keeping him smelling fresh and getting rid of those fleas? | |
| | Meet My New Furbaby... | | A little over a year ago I told you about a friend whose dog had problems delivering her puppies. The Momma almost died, 5 of the babies died with only 1 surviving. Because of the start the one baby had, my friend doted over that little bundle of joy almost forgetting the Mom. After extensive conversations with her, I finally convinced my friend that the puppy would be better off in a loving home with a huge yard & LOTS of love!!! During this time, my friend was laid off from her job. She spent a lot of time reconnecting with her dog . The dog was the happiest I had ever seen her & so was my friend except for the fact that every time she found a job there was a layoff & she was back out of work. Since the last layoff she has had NO luck finding a job & has lost her home in the process. She can barely buy food for herself & needless to say the dog was going hungry except for the occasional rabbit she would catch. I couldn't stand watching all this happen so I took them both into my home. Since my friend wasn't paying any of the bills, she just couldn't be worried with conserving energy nor water. She'd take food out of the refrigerator & leave it sitting out & it would go to waste.... | |
| | Bathing you dog | | How many time do you bathe your dog for a week? Even though its outdoor or indoor dog? I just bathe my dog once a week or twice. And do you think shampooing them is not that good for their hair if we do bath them regularly? | |
| | It Takes A REAL Man... | | WARNING: RANT AHEAD-PROCEED WITH CAUTIONSome days I just get SO pissed off...[em]angry[/em]My "friend" Bob went and spent a couple hundred on fireworks today. That's cool; I enjoy watching them.[em]happy[/em]They have a Golden Retriever in a pen outside; a good dog, but these people really don't know how to take care of animals. It was an indoor dog 'til they banished it to the pen because it kept peeing and pooping in the house. Of course, they never took the poor thing outside except maybe twice a day; many times it would be stuck in the house for twelve hours with no relief...of COURSE it was going to have to finally relieve itself. But you can't explain anything to Bob...Anyway...he started shooting off fireworks. The dog didn't like the loud noises and started barking and growling. The dog got yelled at the shut up; I tried to explain to his wife (who was doing most of the shouting at the dog) that it was a natural reaction. I was told "that dog knows it is not supposed to bark".Common sense does not work well when dealing with these people.Anyway, I went inside; Bob proceeded to light more fireworks. Then I saw something go flying... | |
| | Shame on my Niece & her Husband!! They don't deserve to have a dog! TALK | | ABOUT ANIMAL NEGLECT!!! These two so called "humans" need their a$$es kicked, turned in or something!!I've not been over to their house well in a long time, ( long story ) today I stopped by on my way home, and that poor Dog is just a mess, she has mange all over her
