| | Police Dog Killed In Cop Car!!! | | A police dog was left in his handler's car with the windows rolled up in 108 degreee heat in San Diego, California. Now while I am certain that the dog's handler did not do this on purpose, this five year old pooch suffered a stroke and die because of neglect. This is very sad, yet I can not help but wonder whether or not the handler will be prosecuted, even though he is himself a cop. What do you think should be done about this? The sherriff's spokesman kind of blew his explanation on why the officer did this to his dog. According to th article the officer left his dog in the patrol car for 12 hours in 109 degree temperature. He ran errands, went out to eat with his wife and even took a nap. This is part of what the sheriff said: “I am certain Sgt. Lovejoy has suffered greatly from leaving his police dog in a sweltering car,” Sheriff Joe Arpaio said in a statement. “I do not relish the idea of compounding his sadness. However, Lovejoy must be treated like anyone else in similar circumstances.” I don't think this guy is sorry at all. How in all good conscience can you leave an animal locked in your patrol car all day long, go run errands, eat with your wife, and even take a nap and then the dog dies. There is no way that this man is so stupid that he didn't realize what would happen to that poor dog! And to be so unapologetic!

| Can trained canines be trusted to give evidence in court? | | Its a strange case here in India. A man murdered a child and buried it under stones. When the body was discovered, it became difficult to even identify the body. A trained police dog was then brought, sniffed and took the police to the house of a man. Based on this the police arrested him. The matter went to court. The lower court declined to accept the verdit of the dog. The matter is now with the High Court in appeal against the ruling of the Small Court. We are all egerly awaiting the judgement. What are your views on this.? | |

It would be hilarious if it wasn't me that was trying to hold him down and trying to not get soaked in the process...Of course the hubby won't help he just says that the dog goes down to the creek and takes a bath and that is enough.
